Preventing Homelessness
Watch how The Sullivan Cener and Sister Marie Sullivan have worked to prevent homelessness in Atlanta for more than 20 years.

Welcome to the Sullivan Center
The Sullivan Center, Inc. is a nonprofit organization whose Mission is to provide help with dignity to families and individuals in crisis. In addition to providing direct financial aid, we empower people to help themselves through financial planning, nutrition classes and employment counseling.

Our primary Goal is to prevent individuals from becoming homeless by providing help with rent, mortgage or a utility bill. We are also advocates of hunger prevention. Dedicated volunteers operate our Food Pantry daily. MARTA assistance is provided for job seekers with confirmed interviews or recently employed persons participating in our financial assistance program.

The Sullivan Center, Inc. is able to make the Christmas Season a little more joyous for many families because of the generosity of individual, group and corporate support. For the holiday season, we coordinate family adoptions through our Family to Family Program, operate a Christmas Store for parents to select free Christmas gifts for their children and themselves and offer Winter Help by paying someone’s heating bills during the winter season.

Through example and collaboration, The Sullivan Center, Inc. is a leader in the movement to change philosophies and practices of emergency assistance in Metropolitan Atlanta. We provide direct, compassionate assistance to individuals and families and empower them to be free from reliance on subsidies. We actively share our innovative programs as models for building coalitions and launching new assistance organizations. – This is the Vision of The Sullivan Center, Inc.
